AW16 Fashion Week Round Up

Style isn't just about aesthetics: it's about attitude. The style set hanging around Soho during fashion week or heading to post-show cocktails down The Left Bank? They have it. Our favourite style icons, - from Alexa to Iris Apfel - they have it. Whether it's a chic shirt your slip into, or a slick car you drive, style is so much more than just fashion and the clothes you wear. It's attitude. And this season's bi-annual fashion month has been dripping with it. Here's a breakdown of your need-to-know.

Minimal has had its day - the new season calls for breaking the rules with maximalism and eccentricism with a retro edge. Iris Apfel, the nonagenarian style icon currently heading the campaign for the new ludicrously sleek DS 3, unveiled her exhibition Iris in Paris, layered up in turquoise beads and neon orange fur. If anyone is testament that style is truly ageless, it's Iris. Ever the rule-breaker, her eclectic taste has propelled her to a style icon. The new DS 3 riffs off Iris' playful approach to fashion. With a customizable design coming in an array of poppy colours and finishes, you can truly experiment. On the runway, Gucci plays testament to a retro revival better than most, with 70s lamé disco sandals, 80s sunglasses and suits, and 16th century bodices, to name just a few.

Parisian Chic

There were few things not to love about Clair Waight Keller's latest installation of Chloé. The back story made us love it all the more: it was inspired by Anne-France Dautheville, a fabulous Frenchwoman who traveled across Europe and through the Middle East on a motorbike in the 1970s. But mostly (aside from the vaporous blouses, tough-girl leathers and oversized chiffon dresses) it was the oh-so chic neckties, dripping with the classic elegant glamour of Parisian women, that captured hearts. The new DS 3 embodies the same kind of Parisian elegance, with its sleek interior and sophisticated design.

All That Shimmers

If one thing is for certain, sparkle is here to stay. Shimmering pieces of plastic and metal drenched the catwalk in the form of head-to-toe embellishments or subtle here-and-there trims. Sequins glittered and winked at Burberry, Preen, Erdem, and Roksanda - to name but a few - the lacquered finish mirroring the glossy exterior of the new DS 3. Oh, and who can forget the influx of metallic, space-age style shoes seen on the street style set? There was silver and chrome-dipped footwear on every corner, with shimmering loafers proving to be the favourite.

The New DS 3

New DS 3 and New DS 3 Cabrio make a winning formula even better. Designed with a clean new look the car is the automotive embodiment of Parisian chic. Beneath its stylish exterior New DS 3 is built on the DS foundations of technology, refinement and attention to detail. From DS LED vision headlights through to 7" touch screen and mirror screen, the car is full of technology to make life easy. Watchstrap design leather seats is an example of the refinement in New DS 3, ensuring that our most compact car meets the exacting standards we demand of every DS. It's also a car with a multitude of options to personalize so the the owner can make the car their very own style statement.
